So, there I was, sipping my lukewarm coffee that tasted suspiciously like burnt toast when I stumbled upon this news. Meta, which swallowed up Twisted Pixel back in ’22, is releasing a new VR game titled Marvel’s Deadpool VR. Yeah, Deadpool. And guess who’s the voice? Neil Patrick Harris. Didn’t see that one coming. I wonder if he’ll throw in some Barney Stinson vibes… legendary, right?
Okay, back to the actual game, if my caffeine-deprived brain lets me focus. It’s coming exclusively to Quest 3 and 3S later this year. Exclusive? Not sure how I feel about that, but let’s roll with it.
The studio’s pitch grabbed my attention. Picture this: Deadpool gets yanked through some sketchy portal to Mojoworld. It’s Deadpool, so naturally, he smells money — loads of it. He jumps into a shady deal without, like, reading the tiny letters (does anyone read those anyway?). And bam, he’s cruising through the Marvel universe, causing chaos. Classic Wade Wilson decision-making.
Twisted Pixel’s been brewing on Deadpool’s antics for years. Parkour meets combat in a way only he would approve — chaotic and probably a little unhinged. If you can dream it, you can do it. Want to hold an enemy’s face to a spinning propeller? Sure, why not. Just don’t blame me when you start dreaming about dismembered lizards or something. Seriously, what’s up with those creepy worm-things?
Anyway — hold up, was there a trailer? Yeah, there was. Go find it if you’re curious.
Oh, wait! Before I drift off again, I nearly forgot to mention we had a sneak peek at an early version of Deadpool VR. Are we excited? Maybe. Or maybe I’m just distracted by shiny things and explosions. Same thing, really.
Did I cover everything? Probably didn’t, but hey, who’s counting?
