Alright, here goes nothing:

So, I gotta talk about this Resident Evil Requiem thing. Seriously, it was like the star of the Capcom Spotlight in June, at least for those of us who geek out over zombie horror games. We got a tease of what’s coming, but it wasn’t the full-on gameplay we were drooling for. Bummer, right?
Anyway, they did spill some beans on why Capcom is steering the sequel down this particular spooky road. There’s this whole bit about cookies — which honestly confused me, but I guess it’s an internet thing. Manage your cookies, people!
Back to the game. Instead of giving us what we really wanted, they hit us with this Creators’ Message thing. You know, where they mostly just chat about the game rather than show it. A talking head fest with bits of gameplay thrown in like seasoning. I was kinda hoping for the whole steak, but hey.
Some juicy details did pop up, though. So, Grace is our protagonist, and hold onto your hats – she’s from the Ashcroft line in the Outbreak series. I mean, that connection, right? It’s a detour from the Winters family saga, reconnecting with good ol’ Raccoon City and Umbrella. Oh, and it’s their 30th anniversary, so that kinda lines up too.
Now, why isn’t our man Leon Kennedy front and center in Requiem? I thought about this a lot. Apparently, Capcom figured he’s too chill to be scared, which is a must for their vision. Makes sense, I guess. Grace, on the other hand, is new to this whole apocalyptic nightmare – just like us, more or less. Although she’s FBI-trained, so she ain’t a total noob.
During Summer Game Fest, everyone’s talking about how you can switch between first and third-person views. Capcom dropped some hints about this, saying players like to pick a style and stick with it. Seems they thought about this more than when they added third-person to Resident Evil Village. Who knew?
So, mark your calendars because Resident Evil Requiem is dropping on February 27, 2026. Gonna be on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Can’t wait. Or, maybe we can. Who’s counting?
