Man, ever just look at something and go, “Wow, that’s gonna be a ride”? That’s kinda what hit me when I heard about this game—Grit and Valor – 1949 (coming in 2025 with VR, mind you). It’s like, suddenly you’re gonna get to see your teeny, tiny mechs up close and personal on those Quest, PSVR 2, and SteamVR headsets.
So, picture this: the PC version popped out earlier this year. You’re this commander of, honestly, the coolest toy-sized mechs, and your mission—if you dare to accept—is to kick the Evil Axis’s butt and set Europe free from a bunch of mechanical minions. Not exactly a walk in the park, right?
And oh man, the choices! You can pick how your mech throws down in combat. How about that? Select pilots like you’re drafting for your own superhero team, then bling out those mechs with cockpits, engines, weapons… you name it. Imagine putting the cherry on top of your mechanical sundae with a new pair of legs. Legs, yeah. Didn’t think I’d be excited about that, but here we are.
So, there’s this indie powerhouse Milky Tea Studios — sounds like a cozy café or something, but nah, they’re game devs — and they teamed up with nDreams who… well, they’ve been around the VR block a few times. Together, they’re transforming this into a VR world where you’re not just clicking buttons but actually pointing and shouting, “Charge!” Or maybe something less dramatic, but I’d totally go full Braveheart.
No clue why August 21st feels like it’s a big deal, but that’s when it all drops. You’ll find it hanging out at the Horizon Store for all you Quest users, and PlayStation Store for the PS5 and PSVR 2 folks. Plus, lucky Steam users are getting a sweet free VR update. Kind of feels like a bonus round.
Did I cover everything? Honestly, I could talk about this all day, but anyway—or wait, should I have started with that? Doesn’t matter. Just keep an eye out. August. Adventures await.
