According to recent updates, the anticipated release of the RTX 5060 series graphics cards has been postponed, leaving board partners informed of a slight delay. Initially set for an earlier debut, these GPUs are now scheduled to hit the market a few weeks later than planned.
Just as we gear up for the unveiling of the GeForce RTX 5070, word on the street is that the RTX 5060 series won’t make its entrance quite as soon as expected. Earlier buzz suggested a March launch with availability in April, but now insiders are hinting at further postponement.
While the exact reasons remain a bit murky, Board Channels has communicated that every NVIDIA partner is aware of this development. Although we lack an official statement, this information aligns with ongoing whispers about NVIDIA’s timeline—or potential hiccups along the way. Interestingly, these launches might coincide with AMD’s roll-out of their RX 9060 series. AMD plans to unveil their RX 9060 XT and RX 9060 cards during the same quarter, offering 8 GB and 16 GB variants that squarely compete with NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 Ti options. While exact dates for AMD’s debut remain a mystery, they are expected to emerge in the second quarter as well.
Looking at the specs, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti has big shoes to fill as it follows the RTX 4060 Ti. It’s packed with 4608 CUDA Cores, offers either 8 GB or 16 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, and comes with a power requirement of 180W TDP. Meanwhile, the RTX 5060 is designed to succeed the RTX 4060, featuring 3840 CUDA Cores, 8 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, and a 150W TDP. Interestingly, a recent leak suggested an RTX 5060 model with 12 GB VRAM might be in the works—potentially gaining an edge over AMD’s RX 9060, which may only offer the 8 GB version.
