Alright, so here’s the thing. Apparently, there’s another big shindig coming up. A Pokémon showcase or something. In July. I don’t know about you, but it feels like these things pop up faster than I can keep track of. Anyway, they’re teasing us with “the latest updates and news.” Whatever that means. It’s the second one this year, by the way. We already had one in February. Seems like just yesterday, right?
Okay, so if you’re one of those peeps who watches stuff online – like, everything happens online these days, doesn’t it? – you can catch this stream on Pokémon’s YouTube. Mark your calendar for Tuesday, July 22. It’s gonna be early, at least for me, at 9 a.m. EDT or if you’re on the West Coast, set those alarms for 6 a.m. The coffee better be strong – no idea how long this thing will run. Could be snappy, could be a marathon. Who really knows.
Now, and here’s where it gets interesting (or not, your call), they haven’t spilled the beans on what games are on the roster. But come on, it’s like they’re dropping hints left and right. I mean, there’s this new gig called Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Got it marked for an October release on the Switch – yes, even on that newer Switch 2 thingy-ma-jig. Should be a blast in Lumiose City. Brings back memories of Kalos from Pokémon X and Y. I can almost see those city lights!
Plus, you know how these guys roll. They’ve got secrets. Surprises. Maybe it’s the hype of the upcoming third anniversary of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that’s gonna take us by storm. Or maybe not. But hey, it’s Pokémon, so I’m guessing they’ll keep us glued.
