Hey folks! I’m Juan Martinez, and as the executive producer at Fatshark, I’m thrilled to introduce you to our latest creation in the Warhammer 40,000 universe – Darktide. We’ve crafted a unique co-op experience for all you PlayStation enthusiasts out there.

Today marks an exciting milestone as PS5 players who pre-ordered the Imperial Edition can dive into Darktide. For everyone else, circle December 3rd on your calendars, because that’s when the game officially launches for all PS5 users.

After our initial release on PC back in November 2022, we’ve been tirelessly expanding and refining the game. We’ve rolled out a series of substantial updates, and PS5 users will get to experience our newest addition, the 10th free update called Grim Protocols, right from the start. Trust me, there’s plenty more where that came from!

### Dive into Intense Combat, the Fatshark Way

Creating a game in the Warhammer 40,000 universe has been a dream of ours. With Darktide, it has become a reality. This is a four-player, co-op action game that puts you in the shoes of a convict – aptly named a Reject – assisting the Inquisition in taking back the embattled city of Tertium. The gameplay deftly combines melee and ranged combat, a hybrid system we’ve polished to perfection.

### PS5 and PS5 Pro: A Tailored Experience

Our mission was to deliver the best possible experience for PS5 players. We’ve carefully optimized Darktide to capitalize on PS5’s capabilities, offering a Performance mode at 60FPS and 1440p resolution, or a Quality mode at 30FPS but with the full glory of 4K. For PS5 Pro owners, we’ve leveraged PSSR technology to achieve 60FPS at 4K, ensuring a buttery smooth experience.

We’ve also taken full advantage of the DualSense wireless controller, focusing heavily on the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. We want the controller to feel like it’s part of the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Imagine the heft of the Boltgun in your hands, or the precision of the Lasgun. Each weapon resonates with a unique sensation, thanks to our immersive design.

You’ll feel the intensity of automatic weapons as the controller’s rumble adds depth to every shot, and the trigger feedback keeps you alert as your ammo dwindles. Experiencing the Chainsword’s teeth as they tear through adversaries will leave you grinning. We’re eager to see you experience these novelties come December 3rd.

### Customize and Conquer

We’ve made sure you can truly make Tertium your home by packing the game with extensive character customization options. From their class and appearance to their backstory and voice, you can personalise your Reject to reflect your own play style.

Classes come with intricate talent trees, opening up varied play styles and allowing deep customization. Our overhaul of Itemization now means you can specialize in over 40 weapon families, enhancing your gameplay mastery.

### Evolution in Real Time

December 3rd isn’t just when Darktide hits PlayStation, it’s also when Grim Protocols drops, packed with new content. Prepare for Havoc, an endgame mode that will challenge even the most skilled players – but only after mastering what Tertium demands.

Adding to the adventure is a compelling new mission in the Carnival, an infamous spot known for both leisure and questionable pursuits. We’re also introducing three new weapon families, from the imposing Two-Handed Force and Power Swords to the heavy-hitting Ogryn Heavy Stubber.
