Alright, buckle up because we’re diving into the wild, wacky world of gaming with “Lost Records: Bloom and Rage – Tape 2” on the PS5. So, you got your controller ready? Let’s talk about DON’T NOD’s newest adventure. Now, I know what you’re thinking: another time-travel game? Yup, you got it. And it’s a ride!
First off, I’ve gotta say, Tape 1 was a blast. Not gonna lie, I couldn’t wait to jump into Tape 2. It’s like when you’ve already opened a bag of chips and just can’t stop munching. Or, you know, maybe that’s just me. Anyway, back to the game, where we’re once again hopping between the 1990s and the 2020s. Swann, Autumn, Nora, and Kat are back, and things pick up right after that jaw-dropping cliffhanger. Seriously, my jaw was on the floor. But hey, no spoilers here!
So, the deal is pretty similar to what we did in Tape 1. You’re using Swann’s camera to capture those emotional snippets of life. And if you’re like me, you’re probably thinking, “I’ve already forgotten what happens after I point and click.” But those memories tie the whole story together, man! Plus, there are trophies. Who doesn’t love shiny, digital trophies? They sometimes even make you feel like you’re good at something.
Speaking of trophies, there are loads of them. I think it’s about 44 Bronze, 2 Silver, and 3 Gold? But don’t quote me on that. And some are as quirky as finding Swann’s secret stash in under three minutes – a feat I attempted only after downing a monster energy drink. Spoiler alert: it didn’t help.
Now, I reckon if you’ve enjoyed Tape 1, Tape 2 is like the cherry on top. Pacing is different this time, might be because we already know the crew pretty well. Choices, choices, and more choices – they’re like picking toppings for your pizza. No idea why, but it’s important, trust me.
Now, the big cheese part of this – it’s priced at $39.99 on the PS5. Is it worth the dough? Well, if you dig time-travel puzzles and complex character arcs, maybe give it a whirl. Just be ready for nostalgia trips and, quite possibly, some existential pondering. Or maybe that’s just the sleep deprivation talking. Whatever.
Anyway, probably went off on a tangent there. Or did I? Who knows. This review is based on a PS5 copy from DON’T NOD. They’re cool folks for letting me give it a spin. But hey, you do you.
