Kluge Interactive, known for the popular VR rhythm game Synth Riders, is set to release their new VR fighting game, FINAL FURY. This much-anticipated title will be available in early access for Quest and SteamVR headsets next month.
Set to launch on May 8th for Quest 2 and above, as well as PC VR headsets, Final Fury aims to deliver an arcade-style fighting experience. The game brings the classic 1v1 matches to virtual reality with an innovative gesture-based control system.
In collaboration with nine-time EVO champion Justin Wong, Final Fury promises a blend of hand gesture inputs and room-scale movements. Players will feel the thrill of becoming one of six unique fighters, each with their own moves and arenas—and there are plans for more content after launch.
"When Kluge Interactive first pitched FINAL FURY to me, I was fascinated by their idea of merging traditional fighting game elements with a VR setup," Wong shared. "Having played and provided feedback on features like dashes, grabs, and character play styles, I’m eager to see how players will interact with this unique experience in Early Access."
At the start of early access, the game will feature:
You are the Fighter! – Dive into immersive VR combat with genuine punches, dodges, and blocks.
Innovative VR Combat – Classic fighter mechanics brought to life through physical gameplay.
Expanding Roster – Start with six fighters, each with their own powers, arenas, and fighting styles, with more to come.
Arcade Mode Unlocks – Battle AI to unlock new fighters, stages, and cosmetics.
Online Multiplayer – Enjoy cross-platform play with rollback netcode for high-quality competitive matches.
Pulse-Pounding OST – Experience an original soundtrack by Zardonic, known for SUPERHOT: MCD.
Final Fury will be available for wishlisting on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and above and on Steam for PC VR headsets. Get ready for the release on May 8th, with a starting price of $9.99.
