Alright, so here’s the scoop. Blizzard finally dropped a date for the Diablo 4 livestream, after what felt like an eternity of waiting. Why they waited so long? No clue. But, they’re diving into Season 9: Sins of the Horadrim, which, if you ask me, sounds downright mysterious. It’s like, why “Sins”? Anyway, it starts in a week, so time’s ticking.
We’ve seen bits of this stuff lurking in the Season 9 PTR from back in May. You might wonder, “Why tune in now?” That’s what crossed my mind too. But hey, there are a few reasons. For one, it’s set for Friday, June 27. Weird, right? They normally pick Thursdays. Or sometimes, they throw you off with something like a Tuesday. But no matter when, it’s 11am PT, 2pm ET, you get the drill. YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, TikTok – it’ll be everywhere. And if you miss it, well, are you even trying?
So, what’s on the menu? We get a sneak peek at the new questline, the battle pass, and, oh, the Horadric Spellcraft thing. Sounds magical, right? Plus, there’s this Escalating Nightmares activity. I didn’t dream that up, it’s real. And if you’re curious about changes from the PTR feedback, this is your moment.
Oh, and there’s always balanced stuff, right? Characters, gameplay tweaks. Some developers will be talking us through it. They’ve got a Q&A, too. I’m kind of curious what people will ask – maybe something about balance or bugs or whatever players itch about.
Post-show, we’ve got this Sanctuary Sitdown chat. With community host Nacho and Aislyn Hall. They’re bound to share more details about the season and chat with Discord folks. Nice touch.
Just when I think that’s all, there’s more! Freebies are in the air. Tune in on Twitch during the Developer Update, and you might score a free skin. It’s this Lacuni’s Pupil Sorcerer staff. Don’t need to stick to the main stream, just hop on any Diablo 4 stream, watch for 30 minutes, and it’s yours. Free stuff for sitting on your couch – can’t complain.
Anyway – who knew I’d ramble on about this?! But you get it. It’s Diablo, it’s happening, and I’m oddly excited.
