Sure thing, let’s give this a spin:

Okay, so I’ve been sitting here wondering if Activision forgot about Black Ops 7. I mean, seriously? It’s this year’s Call of Duty and we basically got… crumbs. Way back in June — feels like eons ago — they dropped this teaser at the Xbox showcase that was more blink-and-you’ll-miss-it than anything. And then? Radio silence.
They promised us more info over the summer, but didn’t bother to nail down an exact date. Kinda like when you tell friends you’ll totally hang out “sometime soon.” Spoiler: it never actually happens.
Anyway, and here I mean it this time, fast forward. It’s mid-July already, and poof, out of the blue, Activision pipes up. August! Cool, right? We’re gonna get another look at it. Mark your calendars for the gamescom Opening Night Live on August 19. Our old buddy Black Ops 7 is on the guest list. You can catch the stream at either 11am PT, 2pm ET, or 7pm UK, if you’re into specifics.
What’s sort of wild here is that Call of Duty usually gets its own flashy reveal event. It’s like them sneaking the dessert into the main course — unexpected but kinda sweet.
Now, if you’re scratching your head over what exactly they’re showing, join the club. This August event could be just a taste, with maybe a grander spectacle a bit later, sliding perfectly into September. Just before the beta, I guess? Who knows.
The developers of Black Ops 7 apparently have a laundry list of things they wanna share, especially since they’re taking a stroll back to the ‘near-future.’ Oh, and co-op is making a comeback in the campaign, which gets a solid ‘heck yeah’ from me. People are buzzing about whether it’s gonna stay tied to Black Ops 6, plot-wise. Wouldn’t surprise me if they drop that bomb soon.
So, no release date yet, but you can probably bet your bottom dollar it’ll be out this November. Be ready on your gaming rig of choice – PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, or Xbox Series X/S. Like we didn’t see that one coming, right?
