Man, so I got my hands on some juicy tidbits, and honestly, kinda hoping there’s more stuff hidden. Surprises are, you know, the spice of life or something like that? Okay, maybe I’m just easily amused. Anyway, here’s what’s up.
Nintendo’s got these free updates, right? For like, a bunch of Switch 1 games. They spilled the beans on what’s cooking, and yeah, we’re talking June 5. Mark your calendars, ’cause apparently that’s also when Switch 2 struts onto the scene. Who knew, right?
What are these updates? Glad you asked. Or maybe you didn’t, but I’m telling you anyway.
– Framerate’s getting a boost on a few games – ARMS (remember that one?), Pokémon Scarlet/Violet, and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury. More frames, more fun? I guess that’s the idea.
– Then there’s this whole visual makeover thing. Yup, a facelift for ARMS, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (is it just me, or is that name a mouthful?), Game Builder Garage, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Pokémon Scarlet/Violet, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, Super Mario Odyssey, and both Zelda games: Link’s Awakening and the all-new Echoes of Wisdom. Glitter and glam, right there.
– HDR support jumps in to make stuff pop – like, in your face, but in a good way – for ARMS, Captain Toad, Bowser’s Fury (just that part, oddly enough), Super Mario Odyssey, and both Zeldas again. Seeing a pattern here?
– Oh, and sharing’s caring with GameShare support. Big Brian Academy’s in on it, Captain Toad again (dude gets around), Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics, and of course, Super Mario stuff. Sharing is totally caring.
– Lastly, a little nod to creativity. Game Builder Garage is gonna let you play with a mouse, courtesy of the Joy-Con 2. Does anyone else think that sounds like it might be super awkward? Or maybe that’s just me overthinking things.
Alright, did I cover everything? Probably not. But hey, sometimes life’s just a beautiful, chaotic mess.
