Earlier today—wait, or was it yesterday?—yeah, must’ve been today, the Elden Ring Nightreign servers just went poof for, like, an hour. They’re doing some maintenance… y’know, the usual drill before a new patch. Not a whopper of a patch, mind you, just version 1.01.2. Small fry.
This patch tossed in a couple of bug fixes. But what folks are probably gonna chat about? The nerfs. Although, well, there’s one that you might not even have noticed.
So, yeah, I side-eyed the notes. Apparently, Nightreign’s 1.01.2 rolled out after last week’s (1.01.1 if you’re counting), which hit the scene on June 2. But here’s the kicker—no major features to get all jittery about this time around. Just two balance tweaks worth a chin scratch.
First up, there was this bug—a real sneaky one. It made the ‘Add (Magic/Lightning/Holy) to Weapon’ effect supercharge your physical attack power. Surprise, it was mostly bows. Weird, but folks have been all about the bows recently. Maybe it wasn’t just me, huh? So, finding out it was a bug? Ouch.
And then, twists keep coming! Some non-direct weapon skills were going wild, think unwanted status ailments flinging around. Definitely not intended, so they’re patching that up too.
Oh, and I saw this image of The Recluse standing there in Limgrave under this purplish sky. Random, but made me wanna play all over again. Anyway—wait, no—so back to the patch notes.
They’ve fixed it so weapons with those Projectile Damage Drop-Off Reduced effects will actually pop out of chests and, you know, from enemies. Plus, if you’re on the Demon Merchant in Limveld quest—hallelujah—it’s fixed! The guy’ll show up when he’s supposed to.
And here’s the rundown:
– Fixed: That Passive Effect “Add (Magic/Lightning/Holy) to Weapon” thing: no more overpowered bows.
– Corrected: Non-direct attack skills acting up — no surprise extra power or ailments now.
– Loot improvement: Those projectile weapons are back in chests and with enemies.
– Merchant woes resolved: Finish that Limveld quest without your merchant ghosting.
– Libra’s apparently been repeating actions — stopped.
– Oh! And some glitch with Adel, Baron of Night causing instability got a fix.
The notes wrap up saying yeah, they’ve tackled several bugs, but heads-up—stuff might still pop up. No idea if it’s the same glitches reappearing or just new, funky ones.
Hope the downtime didn’t wreck anyone trying to uncover Nightreign’s rarest item mystery. I mean, downtime stinks, but our trusty Elden Ring Nightreign guide never skips a beat, so it’s your best bet for any head-scratchers.
