Alright, so, here’s something I was just thinking about — those two new Marvel heroes, right? They’re storming in alongside the big guys like Cap, She-Hulk (who I totally dig), Spider-Man, and our grumpy friend, Wolverine. This whole Marvel Cosmic Invasion thing, I think, is going to be wild. Or maybe I’m just hyped for the chaos.
Now, Beta Ray Bill, aka Beta Ray Thor. Yeah, think about that. A cybernetic horse-man Thor from some far-off planet called Korbinite. I can’t unsee it now — his hammer, Stormbreaker, is literally his weapon of choice. Saw this dude first in The Mighty Thor No. 337 — all thanks to this genius (or madman?) Walt Simonson. Bill even swung around Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, once upon a time. Imagine the confusion.
And who’s tagging along with horse-Thor? Silver Surfer. Now, this is where it gets interesting. Picture this: zooming around the cosmos on a surfboard, taking on Annihilus’ bug army. The guy’s got the Power Cosmic. Power Cosmic! What even is that? I swear, sometimes I have to pinch myself to remember these stories exist outside my dreams.
So, at Comic-Con — gosh, don’t get me started on Comic-Con! The excitement was ridiculous. They dropped some fresh details on the Marvel Cosmic Invasion game. Voice cast stuff, if that’s your thing.
Oh, and get this, the game’s hitting pretty much every console under the sun — Nintendo Switch, PlayStations 4 and 5, Xbox, PCs. You name it. When? “Sometime later this year” — classic vague video game promise. Anyway, should keep us busy, right?
