Alright, here goes nothing:
So, here’s something messy from the world of gaming — Moon Studios, the folks behind “No Rest for the Wicked,” are kinda in hot water. Like, big trouble. Why? Well, apparently their latest game got completely blasted with negative reviews. I mean, who hasn’t faced a bit of criticism, but this is like major league stuff.
Anyway, Thomas Mahler, the main guy over there, dropped some pretty heavy news on their Discord. Weird place for big announcements, but okay. Some dude from NeoGAF caught it and shared it around. Basically, Moon Studios could shut its doors. I know, wild right?
Mahler was all like, “Hey, people think I’m joking when I ask for positive reviews.” At first, kinda funny, but then it’s just sad. It seems folks think there’s this big corporation paying their bills. Kinda makes you think about all those faceless companies we assume are fine. Spoiler: not always true.
And then he goes, “Guys, if you’re loving Wicked and looking forward to updates but haven’t reviewed us, we might just disappear.” Not gonna lie, that sounds like some desperate last-minute plea. But imagine building something cool and then it just tanks because people vent their Saturday night rage on your game’s review page. Ouch.
He said something like, if we don’t get back up in the review rankings, it’s game over. Literally. I get it though, who even leaves reviews anymore? (Okay, guilty here too.) But maybe it’s worth a shot to help them out if you’re into the game.
And here’s the kicker — just a couple months back, they declared themselves “fully independent.” Whatever that’s supposed to mean. Plus, their first games, the Ori series, sold like over 15 million copies. You’d think they’d be swimming in cash, right? Maybe not. Or maybe, just maybe, this is all a quirky marketing ploy.
Who knows. Life’s a mess.
