Hey, so Elden Ring Nightreign servers just went back online. They had some maintenance earlier. Anyway, during that downtime, FromSoftware decided to smash out this major post-launch patch for the game. And there’s something cool for solo players in there, too.
Update 1.01.1 is now live across all platforms. Let’s see what’s inside. Or maybe dive into the chaos? Whatever.
Shortly after the game launched, people were grumping about how rough it was for those flying solo. I mean, sure, it’s meant for groups of three, but come on, does it have to be that brutal for solo players?
FromSoftware promised to tweak a few things in the next big patch, which is dropping this week. The exciting part? Some of the changes meant for update 1.02 stumbled their way into today’s patch, 1.01.1.
So, here’s the deal — if you’re flying solo, you now get a freebie revival, once per night boss fight. Always on. No big hoops to jump through, unlike the co-op Expeditions where you still gotta grind for it. Plus, there’s this rune boost thing happening, probably to make up for the fact you’re going the lone wolf route and not partying up.
For everyone else who loves those chaotic Expeditions, the patch sweetens the deal. More high-rarity Relics upon hitting Day 3 — making that final brawl less of a headache. And getting those precious Relics from Scenic Flat stones is now a breeze. Go snag them at the Small Jar Bazaar if you have the coin.
Right, other than the big headline changes, patch 1.01.1 also squashes a bunch of bugs. Oh wow, now the camera won’t make you dizzy when you trigger Wings of Salvation, the Guardian’s super move. Thank goodness.
Other bug fixes? Stuff like skills not kicking in when they should, stats showing inaccurately — the usual suspects. Anyway, here’s the long list of fixes if you’re into that:
Bug Fixes
- Camera chills out during Guardian’s Ultimate Art, “Wings of Salvation.”
- Duchess’s Skill “Restage” wasn’t triggering Status Ailments like it should have. Now it does.
- Raider’s Greataxe and Great Hammer were smashing harder than intended. Fixed.
- Those pesky “Those Who Live in Death” baddies? Yeah, they stay dead now with “Sacred Blade.”
- “Bleeding” Status was a no-show with “Bloody Slash.” Now it’s back.
- “Ghostflame Ignition” kind of ghosted some attacks. It won’t anymore.
- “Frostbite” was lazy. Now it builds when you swing with “Moonlight Greatsword.”
- Arrows from “Mighty Shot” and “Enchanted Shot” get their speed back.
- “Rock Sling” was reaching too far with a staff. Reined in now.
- “Black Blade” wasn’t cutting max HP as promised. Now it does.
- “Successive Attacks Negate Damage” was stacking up endlessly. Nope, fixed.
- Passive Effects were kind of lying about their values. Truth restored.
- “[Guardian] Become the target” Effect wasn’t triggering. Now it works.
- Relics were moody, not showing the right effects. Sorted.
- Changing characters in Remembrance world messed up item acquisition. More bugs squashed.
Steam-only Fixes
- Graphics on “Low”? Things didn’t render correctly. Fixed.
- Climbing was annoying with a keyboard. Now it’s easier.
- Gamepad users struggled to climb. Smoothed out.
