Okay, so here’s the deal – Sony decided to throw even more stuff into their PS Store Summer Sale. Yeah, more discounts piled on, and honestly, it’s a bit overwhelming, but exciting if that’s your thing. So, picture this: it’s 2015, the world was, well… different, and this action-adventure game drops for the PS4. Yup, tied to some blockbuster film series. Go figure.
## Mad Max for Five Bucks? Seriously?
Avalanche Studios (not the kind that brings snow, ha!) teamed up with Warner Bros. Interactive – and boom, Mad Max is yours for $4.99 on the PS Store right now. Crazy, right? Usually, it’s twenty bucks. So if you’re on PS4 or PS5, maybe now’s your chance? But hey, don’t snooze on this; you’ve got until August 14, 2:59 a.m. ET to jump on it. Why this odd time? Beats me.
So, what’s the gig with this game? It’s like, Mad Max – lone wolf in a world that’s just gone to pot. You know, cars are life and all that. It’s open-world, third-person mayhem where you’re scrapping with gangs of bandits to just kinda make it through. Max, this guy, just wants out of the chaos and something about the “Plains of Silence.” Sounds eerie. Anyway, you’re scavenging a messed-up landscape to build the ultimate deathmobile. Or something.
Back in 2015 when it hit the PS4, folks had mixed feelings. I mean, Metacritic has it sitting at a 69 from 71 critics, if that tells you anything. But we kinda liked it. Gave it an 8 out of 10. Not bad, right?
To be real, Mad Max hooked me in. The combat was fun, punching and crashing cars – there’s something in that chaos, ya know? And upgrading stuff was pretty engaging. Sure, after a bit, you might hit a wall of “meh,” but whatever, it gives good hours of entertainment before you get to that point. Anyway, if you’re into post-apocalyptic road trip chaos, give it a whirl. Or don’t. Up to you!
