Acer has expanded its lineup with six new Radeon RX 9070 series graphics cards, offering both base and overclocked models that can reach boost clock speeds of up to 3.1 GHz.
Recently, Acer has announced a fresh range of RDNA 4 GPUs, showcasing new BiFrost and Nitro editions. While Acer has been in the AMD cards game for a while, it hasn’t exactly been a frontrunner compared to other partners. This time, they’re shaking things up with six models: three of each for eager gamers and tech enthusiasts.
In this lineup, you’ll find two Nitro editions each for the Radeon RX 9070 XT and Radeon RX 9070, as well as a BiFrost edition for every GPU. If you’re after top-notch aesthetics and superior cooling, the BiFrost editions have got you covered. Meanwhile, the Nitro models are tailored for the mainstream market but still pack impressive specs.
Let’s dive into the BiFrost editions first. The Acer BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB sports a stunning triple-fan cooling system, complete with a sleek shroud and eye-catching silverfish accents. This cooling marvel features FrostBlade 4.0 ringed fans and a counter-spin design to get rid of heat efficiently. Coming in at approximately 295 mm in length and 2.5 slots thick, this GPU, factory-overclocked up to 3.1 GHz, is built for those looking for peak gaming performance.
The Acer BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 OC 16 GB mirrors its sibling in design but comes with two 8-pin power connectors instead of three like the XT version. Interestingly, both cards are rated at 340W, though the RX 9070 typically demands less power. While technically two 8-pin power connectors and a PCI-E x16 slot can handle 340W, it doesn’t leave much headroom for overclocking compared to the BiFrost RX 9070 XT OC.
Switching gears to the Acer Nitro series, they’re offering non-OC and OC versions for the RX 9070 series cards. The Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC, a triple-fan card, boosts up to 3.1 GHz, matches the BiFrost in both size and length, and also uses three 8-pin power connectors, featuring a 340W TDP. Conversely, the non-OC Nitro RX 9070 XT clocks in at 304W but still requires three 8-pin connectors. This model maxes out at 2970 MHz in boost and up to 2.4 GHz in game mode.
Then there are the Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 OC and RX 9070 16 GB editions, with boost clocks reaching 2.7 GHz and 2.52 GHz, respectively. The OC edition is rated at 245W while the non-OC is at 220W, yet both share the same design.
Although Acer is keeping the rest of the pricing details under wraps for now, they have let slip that the Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB will retail for an eye-opening $829.99. With that in mind, brace yourself for the BiFrost editions to come with an even heftier price tag. As for availability, the Nitro RX 9070 XT OC is set to hit the US markets in April, but there’s no word yet on when the rest will follow.
