THQ Nordic just rolled out their 2025 showcase. And oh boy, did they spill the beans on some upcoming games. Do I remember everything they talked about? Not a chance. But some gems stuck with me.
First up, Tarsier Studios! Those folks behind Little Nightmares are diving into the horror genre again with something called Reanimal. It’s got a trailer showing creepy realms and characters. Monsters? Check. Orphaned siblings? Double check. Trying to survive while the world goes bonkers? Honestly, sounds like my last holiday. Plus, multiplayer—because everyone knows scares are better shared, right?
Then you’ve got SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide. Seriously, who doesn’t love SpongeBob? They’re dropping it on PS5 this November. And David Hasselhoff is in it, singing… yeah, no kidding. You can flip between SpongeBob and Patrick, which is something fans have been shouting about forever. Pre-order perks include a DLC for a “Natural Costume”—not sure what that means for a sponge, but hey, free is free.
Gothic 1’s being remade. Look, role-playing games are like my comfort food. Alkimia Interactive is putting their heart into it for today’s picky gamers. There’s a demo out now where you can wander around the Colony. It’s just a taste of what’s to come, and no spoilers. Apparently, the full Classics trilogy is PS5-bound by 2026.
What about Eternal Life of Goldman? I don’t even know where to start. The title sounds like something ripped from a philosophy class, but it’s actually a platformer that asks for precision and offers a wild exploration. There’s a trailer, and the story seems rich and a bit convoluted, as all good stories should be.
Tides of Tomorrow. Now there’s a title that screams adventure. From the creators of Route 96, it’s got this whole asynchronous vibe going on. Story-driven, decision-heavy. It’s like they threw Mad Max into a blender with a choose-your-own-adventure book.
Oh, the Wreckfest series! It’s been a wrecking ball for my stress levels – those demolition derbies are legendary. They’re cooking up a sequel that’ll smash its way onto PS5 in 2026. It’s about doing whatever it takes to be the last car standing (or rolling).
Titan Quest II is also happening. Set in mythological Greece. Think hack-n-slash meets RPG. It’s class-less—like, you put together your hero from scratch. Pick your masteries and voila, you’re a new legend. Gods, creatures, and a world that promises adventure.
And here’s something wild—Wreckreation. Take the chaos of Burnout, stir in a big open world, and a zillion customization options. Build and race over just about anything—dinosaurs included. The game appears to be pushing the limits of what you can dream up and drive over.
Anyway, THQ Nordic thinks they’ve got something for every type of PlayStation player. Tons of gaming joy ahead, or so they claim. Let’s see what actually happens when these titles hit Gamescom soon. Fingers crossed we can actually play some.
