Conquering these adversaries in battle allows you to recruit them, tapping into their unique powers for epic battles and to uncover hidden secrets scattered throughout the world.

As you take these Synths into combat, they gain experience, helping them level up. With five distinct levels of progression, each Synth offers unique bonuses, making them quite distinct in how they enhance your team. But be warned: as they grow stronger, earning additional experience becomes more of a task. To keep your team versatile and max out on ability gains, it’s wise to switch between Synths regularly.

Take the “Psitek” Synth, for instance. Right from the get-go, it can light up torches—a handy trick if you want to shed some light on things. Once it hits level three, it learns to smash projectiles with a fiery slash, a vital skill in certain dungeony situations. However, many of its advancements focus mainly on combat prowess. So, switching to a different Synth that requires fewer experience points for new abilities might be the way to go.

Early in the adventure, you’ll come across a boat that used to belong to the scientists, and it’s all yours to explore the Genesis Archipelago. This place is brimming with little islands hiding secrets, bonuses, and goodies like extra hearts, stat-boosting gems, and currency for shopping sprees. If scan-and-search adventures aren’t your scene, you can skip the small talk and head straight to the bigger islands where you’ll confront the sketchy scientists and their dubious deeds head-on.

The more prominent islands house formidable boss Synths, but don’t write off the smaller islands either; they might be crawling with these powerful creatures as well.
