GungHo Online Entertainment America has made an exciting announcement: they will be bringing Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter to the Nintendo Switch toward the end of next year. This development has been eagerly anticipated by fans of the series.
The original creators, Nihon Falcom, are revisiting the beloved The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, which was the trailblazer for what has now become the well-loved Trails series.
Originally debuted as a turn-based RPG for the PC, Trails in the Sky later found its way onto several other platforms, including the PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita. This new iteration, designed for modern gaming systems, promises fresh English, German, and French translations, upgraded visuals, and tweaked gameplay mechanics to enhance the player’s experience.
Set in the picturesque Liberl Kingdom, the narrative centers around Estelle Bright and her adoptive brother, Joshua. As they embark on a mission to become senior bracers, they are unwittingly drawn into a conflict with a shadowy organization threatening their homeland. As the plot unfolds, Estelle and Joshua unearth hidden secrets, face escalating perils, and find their courage and camaraderie put to the test.
For collectors, it’s worth noting that Limited Run Games has confirmed the production of a special Collector’s Edition of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter. Those who prefer a more conventional option can look forward to a standard edition, available through Amazon in North America for $59.99 and via Clear River Games in Europe for €59.99.
