Rogue Incursion’s” Late Shift to “Part 1

When Survios finally launched the much-anticipated horror shooter, “Alien: Rogue Incursion,” last week, fans were surprised to see it branded as ‘Part One.’ This unexpected tag raised a lot of eyebrows and sparked questions—were we actually only getting a segment of the game or was there something more? It turns out, players aren’t just receiving half a title; instead, they’ve got a hint of what’s coming next.

The game debuted last week on PC VR and PSVR 2, and the ‘Part One’ label left many speculating. Is it a full game or just the first installment in a series of episodic content? Well, after diving into it for a thorough review, we found that it’s definitely a complete experience. We logged around eight hours in this immersive world, awarding it a solid 7 out of 10. Its environments are beautifully crafted, and those tense encounters with the Xenomorphs, though thrilling, did grow a tad predictable due to repetitive enemy types and a rather harsh save system.

Survios recently addressed the confusion in a post on X, clarifying that they never intended to mislead players with the ‘Part One’ designation. They emphasize that this isn’t about chopping up the game into bits to release piece by piece. Rather, it’s just the beginning of a two-part narrative arc, with the standalone adventure culminating in a cliffhanger.

The good news? Survios confirmed that Part Two is already in the works, and promises even tougher foes and challenges ahead—a prospect that’s bound to excite any horror shooter fan.

While we await further developments, there’s also curiosity about how the game will perform on Quest when it launches on Quest 3/3S in February 2025. In our review, we highlighted the game’s dynamically loading levels, intricate textures, and plethora of physics-based interactions, which might explain the studio’s decision to postpone the Quest release.
