Back in August, the launch of “Star Wars Outlaws” was less than stellar. While it received lukewarm critical acclaim, the game was also riddled with technical problems, ranging from minor graphical glitches to severe bugs that could break your progress entirely. Combat has also seen a batch of updates in this recent patch. Enemies now come with weak points, and targeting them will trigger unique animations depending on where they’re hit. Kay’s blaster has been fine-tuned for better precision, rewarding careful aiming, and headshots pack an extra punch now. The AI of opponents has been polished too, with the bad guys using cover more effectively and reacting to nearby explosions with staggering movements.
A neat little addition allows Kay to holster larger weapons when she’s speeding around or engaged in climbing and grappling.
Many players felt let down by the game’s visuals at launch, especially during character dialogues. However, the 1.4.0 update aims to rectify this by adding more lifelike facial animations during conversations and polishing the overall look of cutscenes.
